One of our key focuses at Hotlum is ecospirituality, or connecting our own experience of sacredness with the Earth and our roles individually and collectively in the balance of Life. We are open to any and all faiths, and we center the practice of linking spiritual experience with the natural environment.
Ecospirituality is not a religious or dogmatic perspective, but simply a way of relating to Life that acknowledges the sacredness, power and beauty of the natural world. By practicing right relationship to the Earth, we enrich our spiritual lives. This relationship requires of us that we understand our responsibilities to the Living systems we are a part. By deepening our spiritual practices, we come into greater awareness and communion with the all Life on Earth.
We try to weave ecospirituality into all that we do at Hotlum, imbuing our work with joy, connection and the experience that tending the Earth is a sacred act. We have found that engaging our bodies, hearts and minds in the activities of caring for the Living systems we find ourselves in integrates our spiritual practice deeply into the way we are with one another and the More-Than-Human-World. We offer retreated and also host retreats for facilitators and groups as a warm invitation for everyone who comes to the land at Hotlum to sink into their own spiritual connection to this land and the Earth.
